New Startups are selected through an application process by applying below. Growth Startups are selected through MTN App Awards, SLUSH, reHealthAfrica or DEMOLA.
Qualifying Startups are invited to the mLab Pre-Accelerator and must be able to attend the programme at either the mLab in Tshwane or Cape Town at own expense. No exceptions.
The Pre-Accelerator concludes with a pitching day to our investment panel and Startups who successfully secure funding through the pre-accelerator pitch will be granted additional resources, including hosted space at the labs for a further 4 months to achieve their investment milestones as part of the mLab Accelerator.
Innovative App startups, including those who focus on mobile, Internet of Things, CryptoTech, HealthTech and wearable devices, can apply to participate in this accelerator and will have an opportunity to qualify for an early stage development & validation grant of up to R500,000.00 (Five Hundred Thousand Rand) plus Acceleration.
Important to Note:
The mLab Accelerator is a very competitive process and applicants are advised to summit their best submission with clear and accurate information. Once submitted the application will be reviewed as is and no requests for in person presentations or sharing further information by phone will be catered for.
Due to the high volume of applicants per season the mLab and its partners will only communicate with candidates selected to move into the next evaluation stage. Should you not receive feedback within 2 months of the application closing date your application may be deemed unsuccessful and you are invited to apply again the following season with an improved proposal.
Applicants who receive a notice of referral to mLab from other parties should accept that their application with that partner has been unsuccessful and that they have been referred for an independent review by mLab for our Accelerator programme. Referrals do not represent a progression of any 3rd party’s application process.
Applications are currently closed but interested startups may register below for notifications once the next round opens.
